Richard can currently be seen in Richard Linklater's , BOYHOOD, which was nominated for six Academy Awards and won the Golden Globe for Best Picture.  This January he can be seen in the film, THE BOOK OF LOVE, with Jason Sudeikis, Jessica Biel, and Maise Williams with all original music by Justin Timberlake. He recently finished shooting THE LAST FLAG FLYING with Laurence Fishburne, Steve Carrell and Bryan Cranston and begins work later this winter on OCEANS 8, the exciting new spin-off of the OCEANS 11 series. He can also been seen in BERNIE, opposite Shirley MacLaine and Jack Black. His theatre credits  include the Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, D.C., Yale Repertory Theatre, Mark Taper Forum, Syracuse Stage and great theatres in New York, California and everywhere in between. Richard has numerous television appearances and has been in films featured in the Sundance Film Festival, Berlin Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, and South by Southwest.

As a teacher and guest artist he has worked with many of the top training programs in the country including the Juilliard School, Yale School of Drama, University of Evansville, University of Texas at Austin, St. Edwards University and the New York Conservatory to name a few and is the artistic director and founder of A Working Group, a professional studio for actors in film, television and theatre in Los Angeles and Austin.  He leads master classes each summer at the University of Northern Colorado, training an international group of theatre educators.

As a nationally recognized leader in actor training, Richard has been a frequent guest speaker at events across the US. He 
has conducted masterclasses in the Meisner Technique for students and teachers at dozens of conferences and universities.  Richard is also an outspoken advocate for theatre education and is proud to have delivered the keynote address at several events, including the Southeastern Theatre Conference, Texas Thespian Festival, Florida Association of Theatre Educators, Heartland Film Festival, Colorado Thespian Festival, and the Educational Theater Association's National Teacher Conference. 

Richard holds a BFA from Stephen F. Austin University and his MFA is from Rutgers University, where he studied under acclaimed acting teachers William Esper and Maggie Flanigan.
