Associate Director for Production. Head, BACHELOR OF FINE ARTS IN STAGE MANAGEMENT

MFA in Directing from the University of Utah. Credits include Broadway, National Tours, Off-Broadway, Regional, Special Event, Industrial, Opera, and Dance for such theatres as The Virginia, The Marriot, Radio City Music Hall, Manhattan Theatre Club, The Palace Theatre in Myrtle Beach, etc. Shows include: Cats, Gypsy, Run for Your Wife, The Christmas Spectacular, Broadway on Broadway, Turandot (NYCO), and numerous regional and touring. Member AEA, AGVA, USITT.  In addition to his professional credits professor DeCastro has been a long time member of the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (Inc) where he has served as Vice Commissioner for the Management Commission, he was the first National Special Events Coordinator for their annual conference and served as Treasurer of the Institute most notably during the US financial meltdown of 2007-2008.  He served in that capacity for six years. At Penn State he has directed such productions as Into the Woods and Brigadoon, stage managed many shows, and performed in Our Country's Good and Measure for Measure.  He can be credited for supporting Hip Hop Theatre by producing Funk It Up About Nothing and A Bombitty of Errors. He has produced Penn State's outdoor productions of Romeo and Juliet and Julius Caesar as well as coordinating and producing Bernstein's Mass, a joint production with the Center for the Performing Arts and the Penn State School of Music.  He has either stage managed or produced the last two capital campaigns for Penn State - both the opening and the closing performances and directed the last capital campaign closing production where the University raised over 2 billion dollars.
