Penn State Downtown Theatre Center
Finished in 2003, the Penn State Downtown Theatre Center is an intimate 150-seat theatre in the heart of downtown State College. The Penn State Downtown Theatre
Center is home to Pennsylvania Centre Stage, the resident professional theatre company at Penn State University.
The Pavilion Theatre is an intimate 300-seat flexible arena/thrust performance space. The facility features a 288-dimmer-per-circuit lighting system, a state-of-the-art
sound system, and a stage sized studio directly under the stage, used for rehearsal and classwork.
The Playhouse Theatre is a 450-seat proscenium-thrust theatre equipped with a dual level, moveable pit, full fly space, and
advanced lighting and sound control systems. The Playhouse is located at the center of the Arts Building and is surrounded by offices, classrooms, rehearsal studios, and dressing rooms, making it the center of much activity.
