"When looking at colleges, the Penn State School of Theatre was one of the few places where I felt like I could have intensive theatre training and a true 'traditional' college experience at the same time. The faculty have tons of experience and connections to share, and were truly invested in furthering my career in theatre to a professional level. I now work (too much!) in New York City as an audio engineer and sound designer." - Stephanie Riddle, BFA Design and Technology, Sound Emphasis Graduate

Penn State also provides students with the opportunity to attain a broad-based liberal arts education. All Penn State students take classes in arts, humanities, social and behavioral sciences, natural science, writing/speaking, health and physical activity, and quantification to fulfill the General Education requirements.

Penn State's BFA program has the largest student chapter in USITT and takes a group of students to the annual conference every year with financial support from UPAC and the School of Theatre. They also perform outreach services for local high schools by holding a yearly conference on our campus where our students teach dozens of high school designers and technicians new skills in design and technology in our shops and theatres.
