We believe that we have one of the finest BFA Scenic Technology programs in the country. Although classroom academic success is your top priority, we will expect you to spend a fair amount of time in our shops and theatres. As a student in Scenic Technology you will go through a structured curriculum where you build your knowledge of the art and the industry. You will also be working through the ranks from production carpenter to Technical Director. As we have decided to focus on the BFA program in Scenic Technology, all BFA students will graduate with AT LEAST one mainstage production under their belt as Technical Director, if not more. We look to them for leadership in the shop.
To prepare you to enter the workforce or pursue graduate education in scenic technology. The BFA is a professional degree that should prepare you to enter the workforce at many different levels in many different environments. As you progress through the program, we can help you figure out what you enjoy most and help you focus on that area of the discipline.
During your time here you will work on almost every single show we produce, giving you hundreds of hours of learning time that you can’t put a price on.
