COSI FAN TUTTE

COSĹ FAN TUTTE
Composed by W.A. Mozart • Libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte • Directed by Ted Christopher
NOVEMBER 15–16
PLAYHOUSE THEATRE

The schools of Theatre and Music present Mozart’s Cosí fan tutte, a fully produced opera with chamber orchestra, sets, and costumes.

Mozart’s popular comedy begins when Don Alfonso determines to overturn the perfect romantic worlds of Ferrando and Gugliemo by convincing them to play exotic Albanians and court their fiancées, Fiordilgi and Dorabella, proving the infidelity of women. Do the men succeed in their counterfeit? Do the women succumb to the advances of the ‘Albanians?’ Containing some of the most dazzling music ever written by Mozart, the show stopping aria ‘Come Scoglio” provides musical fireworks to the score and is often used as a stand alone concert piece.
