Meet the Penn State Musical Theatre Class of 2021

Aidan ColeAidan Cole, from the suburbs of Philadelphia, has been passionate about the theatre since his mother signed him up for acting classes in the fourth grade. Some of his favorite performances/roles include Seussical (Horton the Elephant), Oklahoma! (Will Parker), Rent (Tom Collins), and Sweeney Todd (Sweeney Todd). He cannot wait to finally put his dreams to action as he studies theatre in college.


Amanda Drewes

Amanda Drewes, a Los Angeles native, is so grateful to join the Penn State Musical Theatre family. Some of her favorite credits include The Addams Family (Morticia Addams), Pippin (Catherine), and Twelfth Night (Viola). She is beyond excited to continue her training in such a brilliant program. Thank you to her beautiful family for encouraging her to do what she loves. WE ARE!


Becca Suskauer

Becca Suskauer hails from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and she is so excited to be a Nittany Lion! Becca has performed at The Muny in Mamma Mia (Teen Ensemble), and sang alongside Kristin Chenoweth in her concert this past spring. Favorite credits: Beauty and the Beast (Belle), Children of Eden (Eve/Mama Noah), and Hello, Dolly! (Irene Molloy). Becca is eager to escape the heat and humidity and excited to start her journey at Penn State. WE ARE!


Briana RyanBriana Ryan, from Staten Island, New York, is so excited to join the Penn State MT family! She is a graduate of Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, where she was a voice major. Some of her favorite theatre performances include Grease (Sandy) and Les Misérables (Cosette). She would like to thank her family for their unconditional support and love. She feels so lucky to be doing what she is most passionate about in such an amazing place like Penn State!


Caitlin StebelmanCaitlin Stebelman is ecstatic to be joining the Penn State MT family! Caitlin grew up in Saint Louis, Missouri, where she performed in various shows at The Muny. Some of her favorite credits include Mary Poppins (Mary) and My Fair Lady (Eliza Doolittle) at Saint Louis University High School and The Addams Family (Morticia Addams) at her high school Visitation Academy. WE ARE!


Darron Hayes


Darron Hayes, from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and a recent graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts' high school drama program, is so very excited to continue his training at Penn State! #WeAre! Some of Darron’s credits include Black Magic at the National Black Theatre Festival, Angels in America (Joe), Romeo and Juliet (Romeo), and Hairspray (Seaweed). Lots of love, hugs, and kisses to Mom, Dad, Aunt Angie, and his little sister, Lola.


Elexa Hanner

Elexa Hanner is straight out of the city of Pittsburgh, where she graduated from Pittsburgh CAPA High School in 2016. While taking a gap year after high school, she participated in creating shows with the Alumni Theater Company and taught dance to young students ages 5–14 at Propel Homestead. Her favorite credits include: West Side Story (Anita), Aida (Aida), and American Idiot (Whatsername). She is blessed and ready to join the Penn State family. Her family and friends support her all the way and she is very thankful for their support. #WeAre 


Jake Pedersen

Jake Pedersen, from the Pittsburgh area, is thrilled to be joining the Penn State family. His favorite credits include Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Jimmy in Thoroughly Modern Millie. Jake would like to thank his family for all their love and  support. He was a student at the CLO Academy and he looks forward to continuing his journey as a Penn State B.F.A. Musical Theatre student. WE ARE!


Jasmine ForsbergJasmine Forsberg is overjoyed to be joining Penn State’s Musical Theatre family. She has been a proud member of the Orlando theatre community for more than ten years. Favorite credits include Once on This Island (Ti Moune), Crazy for You (Polly Baker), and The Tempest (Ariel). Jasmine loves songwriting on the guitar and piano, and has written more than 80 songs. She would like to thank her family, friends, and mentors for their endless love and unwavering support.


Kate Wild

Kate Wild, from the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, is beyond excited to be a part of the community at Penn State's School of Theatre. Her passion for the arts takes her back to her first role as Fern in Charlotte’s Web at age 7. Some of her favorite performances over the years include Thoroughly Modern Millie (Millie), Godspell (Disciple), and The Little Mermaid (Ariel). She would like to thank her gracious parents, family, friends, and teachers for their love and encouragement, and cannot wait to start her journey at Penn State! 


Tommy Lock

Tommy Lock is from the Philadelphia area and can’t wait to get started with the Penn State Musical Theatre family! Favorite past credits include 1776 (Courier) and Aladdin Jr. (Aladdin), both at the Media Theatre, and Legally Blonde (Warner). In addition to acting, he writes music and hopes to release an EP in the near future. Tommy would like to thank his family and friends for their never-ending support!


Will Jewett


Will Jewett is from Pittsburg, Kansas, and is looking forward to joining the MT program at Penn State! A few of Will’s favorite roles include A Chorus Line (Mike), Band Geeks (Spitz), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Leaf Coneybear), and Shrek The Musical (Donkey), for which he was awarded Outstanding Leading Actor at Music Theatre Wichita’s Jester Awards. Shortly after graduating high school in 2016, Will accepted a position as a performer with Royal Caribbean International, finishing his contract this past May. He is eager to become the best artist he can be with the help of his new Penn State family.
