Milagros studied drawing and painting at Pontifical Catholic University of Peru in Lima-Peru, and holds MFA degrees in both drawing & painting, and scenic sesign from the University of Maryland at College Park. Milagros joined the design & technology faculty at Penn State in 2010. Her areas of specialization include scenic design, scene painting, rendering for the theater, figure drawing, and CAD drafting.  

Regional theatre credits include scenic designs for Catalyst Theatre, Children’s Theatre of Charlotte, Everyman Theatre, Gala Hispanic Theatre, Imagination Stage, The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Metro Stage, National Players, Olney Theatre Centre, Opera Vivente, the Baltimore Opera Young Artists’ Program, Penn State Centre Stage, Rep Stage, Round House Theatre, Theatre Alliance, and Studio Theatre 2nd Stage among others.  International credits include the scenic design for Long Day’s Journey Into Night in Lima, Peru.

Milagros has received two Helen Hayes nominations for outstanding scenic design in the Washington DC area, and a Best of Baltimore recognition for best scenic design in the Baltimore area.  She is a member of United Scenic Artists, Local-829 and an Artistic Associate at Olney Theatre Centre.
